This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK’s most successful Tier 1 Main Contractors at the level of Design Manager/Senior Design Manager, to work on projects in their London + S/E region.

This Western Home County based regional Office of this National Contractor works on building projects from design stages 2, 3 and 4 – and has over recent times been very successful in winning, and delivering projects within the Commercial and Educational Sectors with building values of between £10 – £70M, but with some being upward of £100M.

This Contracting Brand forms part of the larger Group Brand which has within it, a number of independent limited Contracting companies….. These businesses include a large MEP Design and Contracting company, a large Structural Design and Contracting company and a growing facade design company! All independently successful and all of which I would feel would be of interest to a person joining the company, especially as a design manager.

The Group does aswell have a development business that the contracting business does partner with and again, as a Design Manager, I would feel you would be interested to know about this. This Development Arm currently has several projects in development, the most recent of which being a Student Halls in Surrey – circa £30M Build Value.

The Regional Office – You will be joining a team of 6 other Design Manager, working from design stages 2, 3 and 4 through to PC. This role does too have clear progression potential into more senior positions if that is desired, a pre-construction management position having being discussed as a possible avenue by the senior hiring manager, and another Senior Director from within the company.

A Design Manager within the business will work from tender documentation onward – taking to site where appropriate, I would suggest being size dictated.

To be suitable! You will have needed to have worked as a Design Manager or a Senior Design Manager for a Tier 1 Main Contractor, having delivered project work for them from tender enquiry to PC. Ideally with some Educational experience.
